Dynamic Pages Help Flint Hills Publishing Scale Without Limits

When Flint Hills Publishing reached out, they were facing a problem most growing businesses never expect.

They were running out of website pages.

Yes, really.

As a fast growing publishing house, Flint Hills Publishing needed to continually add new authors, new books, and new genres. Their website had been built with individual pages for everything. Every author had their own page. Every book had its own page. Every genre lived on its own page too.

That setup worked in the early days. But as the business grew, the website started pushing back.

Before long, the way the site had been built, made it difficult to add new content efficiently. Growth was happening fast, and the website needed a more scalable structure to keep up.

That is when Thea Rademacher, President of Flint Hills Publishing, and their website designer, Greg German of Limestone9 Consulting, contacted Winebrenner Designs to help them find a smarter, more sustainable solution.

The Problem: A Website That Was Holding Growth Hostage

Flint Hills Publishing had built an impressive catalog of authors and titles, but behind the scenes, managing the website was becoming frustrating and time consuming.

Updating content meant juggling dozens of pages. Navigation was getting harder for visitors. And most importantly, adding new authors or books was no longer possible without hitting technical limits.

As Thea put it:

“Flint Hills Publishing had a big problem. We were literally outgrowing our site. We needed more pages to support our growing publishing house. We also needed a refresh on the home page and to improve the functionality of the site.”

They didn’t just need a new design. They needed a website that could support growth now and long term.

The Plan: Build a Website Designed to Scale

Instead of continuing to add more individual pages, we shifted the website to a content driven structure using CMS and dynamic pages.

In simple terms, this means the website is built to manage large amounts of similar content without creating new pages every time something is added.

For a publishing house, this approach makes everything easier. Authors, books, and genres can grow endlessly behind the scenes, while the website automatically displays the right information to visitors.

The result is a site that feels organized, intuitive, and flexible, without constant manual updates.

The Solution: One Website, Unlimited Growth

By restructuring the site with dynamic pages, Flint Hills Publishing no longer has to worry about page limits.

Instead of building hundreds of individual pages, the website uses a consistent layout that updates automatically as new authors and books are added. Navigation is clearer, browsing is smoother, and managing content is dramatically faster for their team.

Visitors can easily explore authors, browse books by genre, and click through to individual titles without hitting dead ends or cluttered pages.

A Home Page That Stays Fresh Automatically

As part of the project, we also redesigned the home page to better reflect the growth and professionalism of the brand.

The new home page highlights:

  • New releases

  • Coming soon titles

  • Featured books

  • Author spotlights

Because this content is connected behind the scenes, the home page stays current without needing constant manual updates. As the catalog grows, the website evolves with it.

A Smarter Blog Strategy for Visibility and SEO

Flint Hills Publishing had previously used a static page to share announcements and events. We recommended shifting to a true blog structure instead.

Each announcement now lives as its own blog post, including older updates that were added as back dated posts. This improves site organization, makes content easier to share, and supports stronger SEO over time.

To support their YouTube channel, we also suggested pairing each new video with a blog post. This creates more entry points for visitors, strengthens search visibility, and helps their content work harder across platforms.

The Result: A Website Ready for the Future

Today, Flint Hills Publishing has a website that can grow right alongside their business.

New authors, books, and genres can be added without worrying about limits. Updates are faster. Navigation is clearer. And the site now reflects the quality and credibility of the publishing house.

Thea shared this after the project:

“I feel that my website reflects the quality of the company. The systems in place will make things more efficient going forward. The SEO is top notch, and it’s a website I can feel really proud of.”
